How to Override Do Not Disturb and system volume

Unfortunately, right now, Apple’s APIs do not allow our app to override Do Not Disturb mode or the phone volume on iOS. If this changes in the future, we can investigate ways to implement the feature to override phone volume for push notifications.

The current workaround to have an OnPage alert override the Do Not Disturb or phone volume is to have the alert delivered as an IVR redundancy call using an Emergency Bypass. This can be done on iPhones with iOS 10+ by following the steps below:

1. Login to the OnPage Dispatcher portal

2. Click on the Contacts Tab

3. Double click to edit contact

4. Add the contact phone number in the “Phone number” section

5. Uncheck “Secured Messaging”

6. Check the “IVR” box and from the drop-down menu, select “Default”

1. Create a contact in your phone called “OnPage” and add the phone number 855-266-7243

1. Select Add to Favorites

1. Click on Edit in the top-right corner

10. Click on Ringtone

11. Enable “Emergency Bypass” and click Done

12. Profile should now look like this:
