How do I override the silent switch on the iPhone so I can get my pages?

Currently there is no way to override the volume or the "do not disturb" feature on the iPhone. What many of our customers have done is used a no sound ring tone and set this tone for phone calls or SMS messages so they can mute communications without the use of the mute or do not disturb" mode. Contact support and we will send you a copy of the silent ringtone for iPhone. To add it to the ring tones on your iPhone you'll need to add the attached file to your iTunes ring tone collection then synchronize the iPhone with iTunes. Once the tone is loaded on the phone you can set it to various notifications such as the incoming call tone or SMS messages. In case you are not familiar with syncing with iTunes I have included instructions below.

  1. Make sure that your iPhone is connected to your PC.
  2. Download the file to your desktop.
  3. Go to Edit>Preferences>General Tab> click tones.
  4. Now go back to iTunes and on the top left hand side under Library you should see a symbol of a bell (labeled tones).
  5. If you do not see the sidebar go into view> "Show Sidebar" Now drag the file from the desk top that you created for your ringtones to the bell (tone folder under library).
  6. Your ringtones are going to appear in iTunes just like your music. It looks just like your songs except after each one it will have .m4r after each title.
  7. Now, click on your device on the sidebar. In the main page it should give you a bunch of options. Summary, info, etc..
  8. Click tones>sync tones and then select the tone or you can select sync all tones. On the bottom of the screen Click SYNC.
  9. To see them > you now must look at your iPhone > Go to Settings > Sounds >Ringtones. They are listed at the top of the list above the default ones that Apple put on the iPhone.
  10. So now anytime you want OnPage to be the only App able to have sound, you can select the "no sound ringtone" ringtone for phone/mail/text or any other notification.
